Open Letter to Mark Zuckerberg...

Published on 15 Jan 2013
This is an open letter to Mr. Zuckerberg about his practices of blocking and banning animal rescuers/ crossposters who save, rescue, educate the public. However, sites with porn and animal violence have not been touched. Plus, FB has been banning private messages, friending, and deleteing messages and comments of people who are acitively involved in animal rescue. WHY??? Apparently a spam filter is to blame, but somehow, I think there is more to this story than that....we save living beings.....we are not spam.

  1. I think its a disgrace that we can't post animals in need. What is wrong with that? I didn't know Mark Z. hated animals. What a shame. I will fight until this is changed or leave facebook. Its not right.

  2. A live animal is a lot more precious and important that porn or sleaze.
Please keep fighting so that we, the animal lovers of the world, may be heard!!
This is a disgusting and very inappropriate move by FB!!!
We need to be heard to use our voices for animals that cant speak!!

  3. Please don't mark our POST AS SPAM and hence block and ban animal rescuers/crossposters who are trying to save, rescue, and educate the public. We are trying to save living animals and are NOT SPAM

  6. Censorship! WOW - I would have thought that younger people in your age group would have a more "liberal" outlook on this. But, I have always said that those who pretend to provide a "service" to others, once they become rich, are just as ingenuous as any other corrupt person.

  7. This is not spam, nor is censorship new to facebook.

  10. Sharing these animals has proven to save lives, bring lost pets home, and heighten awareness of animal abusers to so many-I hate when I have to stop these crucial posts yet porn, lewd, crude sites are totally available and shareable. Please give us back our right to speak and save lives.

  13. What is wrong with you people, Zuckerberg in particular, with our posts concerning animal rights and placements? Have you no humanity in you concerning animals. What is with this blocking? There are other more prevalent issues to be blocked and justified.

  14. You should be democratic and not block animal rescue, goodness, some of the things that you do allow are unbelievable.
If you allow one, then you must allow all, even the ones I personally do not like, this is the democratic way.

  15. Please reconsider your policy and let us share what we want on FB. It's the perfect vehicle to save the lives of animals & to protect them from many horrible things!! FB is fun with everyone's jokes, & there are lovely pix. Some people want to talk about sports or politics. However, the most important role that FB can play is as a life saving tool. Please let us continue to try to alleviate pain & death!!!

  16. I've signed plenty of your petitions. I want to work for a nonprofit organization, I don't know what the Facebook problem is. I have talked about many things on their website, I guess there isn't enough money in advocacy for their website.

  17. Please stop blocking the animal
Groups. A lot of homeless animals get homes this way.

  18. It is a shame to be Blocked by FB

  19. Jean you've got it right, no humanity whatsoever. Some people are just plain heartless & here's one of them. FB is the best way us animal people can get together to work for improvements in animal welfare. The best thing you can do is shut the hell up, & let us get on with it without you causing problems. Animals have as much right as us to be here & live without cruelty, & thats what we fight for.

  20. Mark needs to put his priorities in order. It is more important for us to read about animal rescue as these animals need our help and Facebook is the perfect medium to get these stories out there.

Unbelievable that spam filters apparently block these stories from circulating, yet it doesn't affect the dodgier sites such as porn and those depicting animal abuse.

These animals need us, and we need you Mark to sort these issues out so that we're able to help them in any way that we can.

  22. This is NOT fair! I am not happy about this, and I, as well, week leave FB if this is not changed. It should not be a personal issue, it should be a COMMON SENSE issue. Who cares if he dislikes animals, they need homes; there are too many homeless animals. I am outraged! Somebody should put his rich ass out on the streets and not advocate for him!

  23. because its said that you have a dog and love it, you would think you support all the activists who tirelssy try to save animals. Facebook is an excellent tool to get causes and thoughts out there.

I think you need to examine your moral fibre and to the right thing, money should not always be the vehicle to champion ideas.

  24. Also, there is a new trial thing that facebook is doing with comments on certain pages. One of the dog shelter pages has been subjected to this "test." It jumbles the comments up to put them in the order that facebooks deems most interesting. What it's doing is making it impossible for people to follow threads on these dogs who have literally days and sometimes hours to live. PLEASE stop the comment jumbling, or at least give us an option to turn it off. Thank You!

  25. Facebook posts have led to the saving of thousands of animal lives. To block such sharing of animals in need would be a shameless waste of lives for those poor creatures that cannot advocate themselves. Please help us with our cause and not hamper it.Thank you.

  26. How ironic in a day and age where you can't go to any site for any products or news story without a "Facebook SHARE/LIKE button" to SHARE on your page for everyone to see. What did he expect? SO he is essentially picking and choosing what he wants US to share on our pages and what pages to JOIN and participate it. What a hypocrite. So it seems to me that he wants people to participate in all the shallow stuff; buy this lipstick, LIKE these shoes, SHARE this video, play these stupid ass games...but no animal rights? Wow! This is an interest group the same as baking, shopping, except that latter serve no real purpose to humanity. The important ones, like animals rights and supporting saving lives, is a worthy cause and he wants to block it?! I just don't understand it. He has the ability to stand for something, and he chooses to stand for less than nothing.

  27. This is NOT cool. What happened to building a sense of community, to help those in need?! Mark, PLEASE reconsider!! It makes no sense that we can continue to search, view and post about sex, drugs and other useless crap that is consuming our youth and society today. I know that you are a worldly man and really admire not only your accomplishments, but your desire to continue to grow as an individual. Animal rights and rescue is something that everyone should be educated and aware of just as you have done for yourself. BTW, how can it be considered spam if you are liking a page to receive these posts and messages? Couldn't they just un-like and/or un-friend the page if they don't want to receive it anymore? Thanks for reading.

  28. Anyone who wears "FLIP-FLOPS" in the snow has a FEW screws loose, and is trying to be noticed !! Thats Mark now that he has billions he has FB to get more people pissed off at him and get more NOTICED on points just like this. Be smart and do not use FB to get in touch with people you know - how about CALLING THEM or speaking to them in person ? What happened to Face to Face communication?? Are we all afraid of talking to a person????? He does what he wants and most people will let him hurt animals by not letting YOU put your info on FB !!! Lets try to hurt the people that HURT animals - Do Not let him get away with this outrage and Laugh at you because he has the money and FB to stick in your face !!!

  29. I think Mark has problems and maybe he even does thing to animals and childern the very thing we help. There is no reason to block us. What happen to being American and freedom of speech. Who are you to stop us from helping to save lives unless you just don't care if these lives are taken. You don't care about the kids who were shot in Connecticut or the abused animals and children around the world. If thats how you feel you can be sure of one thing you will go to hell and burn in the eternal fire..I know you don't believe in that or you don't care well guess what YOU WILL CARE..when you are judged and God turns you away you will be tortured for ever and there will be no relief. We help living thing we rescue abused kids and help them find new homes and we do the same for animals.. what is your problem. We are not spam we are people who care (not like you). Do you have a dog or cat and kids..well guess what if your child was lost you would beg for our help since we have resources all around the world to help. We network to help abused animals and children. If you don't want to see our stuff then block it alot of people do, but most do it because they can't stand to watch the abuse and torture or animals and people. Your just doing it to be an ass. Please rethink this..people need us and we need them..we will continue to network even without your help..we believe in our causes and we fight for them and fight to be the voices of little girls being murdered in India and for the animals that people burn alive and for the little boys who live in Africa who are stolen so they can become soldiers. Where is your heart? Can you turn your back on these living creatures that so badly need us to be a voice for them..If we can't help then all will be lost and our childern will die and our animals will be gone and you would have had a part in all that or you will be the hero that helps us save lives? We are all begging for you to stop this and just let us be..let us do what needs to be done..And we need to be able to talk to each other to help everyone and everything. Please don't shut us out!!!!
