AMERICA-More dogs have been shot and killed (18 known) by police than there are days in this New Year. Police are bringing the New Year in with a bang, and the public has had enough.
The public not only has to watch out for gunmen killing their children and family members, but now have to protect their family pets from the police that are servants of the public.

  1. To know that we are all connected, and yet this tragedy continues not only makes me sad for the pets, but the humans who are ignorant and have this much hate in their lives!

  2. If I could I would adopt all homeless animals and have a sanctuary that is clean and healthy for all and help them to get the necessary vet care needed.

    1. Unfortunately we don't know the details. For instance, if a dog is savaging a child, then you would be ok for the officer to shoot the dog to save the child. Before we get upset lets find out the facts.

  4. No surprise, sadly. Why did many of these people become cops? Because they love the power; they love cracking heads; they love shooting; they love killing. Many of the cops I know are also more corrupt than the criminals.

    There must be strict controls!

  6. It is kind of scary to think that the people we depend on to protect us "the public" are so quick to grab their guns and shoot an innocent animal. I believe that police officers should have to have psychological testing donebefore they are hired to serve and protect. Some of these officers have major issues and only take it out on the public, and that includes our beloved pets. Many people do not realize that these animals whether it be dog, cat, bird, are truly loved and part of families in every sense of the word. It is very dangerous to have these individuals armed and running around in public with guns and something to prove. We are not safe as long as these individuals are patrolling our streets and neighborhoods..

  7. Two cops have resigned after text messages were recovered, to conspire to kill a neighborhood elk in Boulder, CO. They killed the beloved elk in a nieghborhood inside the city limits. They have two felony charges and multiple misdemeanors charges against them. This happens on the heels of another dog kill, by another law inforcement officer. The dog was restrained in the club/ noose device, when it was shot multiple times. They are killing coyotes they say are being agressive... It's breeding season, of course they are going to be a bit more agitated. Some of these cops seem trigger happy, unjustifiably toward animals and must be tried and sentenced, or this behavior will continue wirh consequence. This is wbove the killings and truly unwarranted and entirely unjust.

  8. What the hell is wrong with people today ? I just don't understand how anyone could do this to a living breathing creature and think that it is amusing. The laws need to be much stricter then what they are. Any kind of animal abuse should be a felony and all should be removed from society. These abusers are future murders of people and why are we not proactive on this? Is it not important that we stop animal abusers and future murderers . This really makes me wonder just what our government and law officials are thinking. But then we have laws officials abusing and killing family pets all over the world and getting away with it. Since when does a badge make it legal to do this. And then we have the media and the internet advertising how to abuse and kill innocent animals and the sick individuals are learning from it and when they do get caught it's nothing more then a slap on the hand, if even that ! I say shame on our government ,law officials the media and the internet for allowing this to happen. Does it really take the death of a child or any person for these people to finally do something about the whole situation ! And do they realize that it could be their child or loved one ! Are they all so blind sited that they don't get this !

  9. the police shold be chargd with animal crulty and fined a hefty price and be made to pay the owners a settelment for pain and suffering they go through after loseing their beloved pet it wont bring their pet back but it would help them adopt another pet that needs a warm loveing home

  10. Just to correct the headline here, It's not legal what they are doing but cops get away with killing dogs, because the police department is corrupted this way. They think they're above the law. If you killed dogs you would go to jail and be sentenced for animal cruelty but if the cops do that it's OK by the ones that suppose to set an example of how to respect the law. it's beyond upsetting. The whole police department should learn how to handle situations that involved dogs, they need to be reminded that killing people's pets is unacceptable unless their life is completely and utterly threatened which in all cases occurred it wasn't the case.

    1. Maybe they can catch the people who abuse the dogs so much that the dogs become aggressive to children and smaller pets, and then are allowed to run loose. Thats usually the reason the police have to euthanize a dog.

  12. These police officers are cowards, if they restrained a dog with a noose device, they should have had control of the dog, instead they shot the dog multiple times, animal cruelty at it's worst.

  16. I see lots of bleeding hearts here. I do not believe in killing for the sake of killing. BUT, did the owners allow their pets to roam where ever it wanted? Did they move to the country and think the animal can run everywhere without being in restraints? If the owner did not properly contain their animal than when it was shot was the fault of the owner and the owner only. My loving dog was attacked by the dog of a person who did not keep it in restraints. Had I caught the dog in the act rather than seeing it run off my property. I WOULD HAVE SHOT IT. My dog never leaves my yard. I taught her what where her boundaries are. All owners are responsible for the acts of their animals. My little sweet heart did not deserve to get her back broken and leg torn up by this trespasser.

  17. The animals shot? Were they in restraints? Did the owners just allow the animals to roam where ever they wanted? I had a dog trespass on my property it broke my dogs back, tore up her leg. My dog knows where her boundaries are and she never goes past them. Had I caught the dog in the act of tearing up my dog I WOULD HAVE SHOT IT. Instead I came out as the dog was leaving my yard. I live in the country and many people have now moved in my area they allow their dogs to run all over the place. The country is like the city. Keep your dog in your own yard contained or it WILL BE SHOT IF IT HARMS SOMEONES PROPERTY.
