Lyn White is a true Aussie hero. As an animal cruelty investigator she has witnessed the very worst of human nature and has gone where few would dare to tread - but she maintains an unshakable faith in the spirit of human kindness. Through her tireless advocacy she has inspired me to be a voice for animals. And I know I'm not alone!
ReplyDeleteLyn received a record number of public nominations in the 2012 Australian of the Year Awards, and in 2011 was determined by The Age newspaper as the second most influential Victorian; voted by readers of Crikey.com as their Person of the Year; and named ABC Newsradio's Newsmaker of the Year. Her inspirational journey is a shining light for animals and people alike.
Ellen Degeneres will be in Australia in March for the very first time! I can think of no better ambassador, no-one more amazing or like-minded for her to meet than Lyn. I am heartened that someone in Australia is addressing live export of animals for meat. I have signed every petition against it that I could find. Though I have not heard of Lyn White prior to a Causes petition request in my e-mail box I applaud her efforts
ReplyDeleteI do not think that advocates or rescuer's should be doing these things to be recognised for what they do. They do it from the heart, not for recognition.

Wow Lyn sounds such a wonderful person and an amazing animal advocate. She thoroughly deserves all the recognition she has had and will get if she appears on the Ellen Show.
ReplyDeleteI wish her luck on appearing on the show. If anyone can, contact the Ellen show directly because Ellen herself is an animal advocate. I hope she makes it (I likely won't know as I don't currently have TV)
